I love the idea that childhood is woven throughout our entire lives, and I want to create designs that seamlessly entwine it through our homes as well.
As a parent, it’s really important to me that our home is a reflection of who my partner and I am, but also who our children are, as it is as much their home, as it is ours. I want to create designs that feel cosy, classic and beautiful, but that also inspire play, wonder and awe. Rather than separating childhood and home, I want to create collections that move through both. Where the wallpaper in a child’s bedroom perfectly compliments the rug in the hallway, and the blanket on their bed would be right at home amongst the cushions on the sofa. Where adult spaces live in perfect harmony with children’s spaces, without losing any magic or style from either.
I create designs for children’s textiles with the belief that children’s clothes should be as lovely as the books they read. That their clothing can be gentle, full of nature and play, and be slow to grow up. Childhood is so fleeting, and fast fashion encourages them to move to the next trend, the next popular character, the next, the next, the next. . . I believe in pieces that become favourites, that children want to wear again and again. Pieces that parents cling to until they’re just that little bit too small, because they hold so many memories, and then pass them down to siblings, niblings and friends, so that more memories can be made. Designs that become a piece of childhood in their own right.
“Whimsy and Wild” is the theme I try to keep at the forefront of all of my surface designs. It’s a uniting motto to tie my work together and let who I am as an artist shine through. I like to think I view life through “British tinted glasses”, celebrate the nostalgia of a childhood in the English countryside, and share my love of cosy, warm, inviting spaces to be happily introverted in. I try to create designs that feel like the birds singing on the first sunny days of spring, that comfort like eating a Sunday roast at nan and grandad’s house, or create warmth like pink cheeks while eating chips on the sea front. I hope my designs inspire joy, play, imagination, harmony and creativity every day, wherever they make themselves at home.
I am currently working to complete my first surface design portfolio. I have several collections and a few that I’m still working to complete, but hope to have a portfolio ready to offer to licensing soon. If you’d like to be kept in this loop specifically, please sign up to my industry insiders email list below.
Coming soon!
My licensing portfolio will be launching in 2026!
